Located in the Wasatch Mountains of Northern Utah, TF
Hollands is owned by Mark and Nancy Taylor and our grandson, Ty Gordon.
While Mark and Ty do the showing, Nancy is our head cheerleader and
supports our endeavors 100%.
We started with Hollands in 1994. Being the father of three teenage
daughters, I realized we needed something we could share in and do
together as a family. The girls thought raising bunnies sounded like fun.
We called the secretary of the local rabbit club and told her of our
interest , at that time, in BEW Netherlands. She suggested we call and
talk to Allan and Becky Ormond as at that time the raised they raised them
as well as their Hollands. Well, when our youngest daughter Erin saw their
Hollands, she forgot all about the Netherlands.
Our foundation stock and most of what we know about Hollands came from
Allan and Becky. The girls got jobs, husbands, and became cheerleaders and
gradually lost interest. By then, our youngest member of the family was
demanding he be allowed to go to rabbit shows. Our grandson Ty started
showing rabbits at five years old. Today he is almost twelve and my right
hand man. Unlike a lot of youth breeders, Ty has his own rabbits, does his
own breedings, and does an equal share of the chores.
In January of 2004, we purchased a buck from Dan and Sarah Pitney, Sarah's
Freedom, to add massiveness and bone to our herd. He had an immediate
impact in those areas and he quickly became the pampered patriarch of the
barn. A huge thanks to Dan and Sarah Pitney for sharing him with us. Most
of our rabbits now carry his bloodline.
When not showing or talking Hollands, Mark is a meat department manager
for a grocery business, Nancy works for the school district in the special
education department, and Ty plays little league baseball, lives to spend
time in the mountains fishing and hunting, and goes to school. |
